This is a painting I just completed for my Brother's Birthday. Its 24 x 30 Acrylic on canvas. Its a larger version of the same scene I painted for my show last month. I titled this piece Peaceful Path - Study #2Not for Sale
Welcome to my page , where I will post pictures of my work and write what inspired me to paint each piece. I believe all forms of art have a story and a message to tell.
I completed this painting last night and is another work slated for a group show on October 18th . I always wanted to paint Point Pleasant Park in Halifax, Nova Scotia. A couple months ago, I was down there and was captivated by a single tree along the shore. I titled this piece Peaceful Path. It's 14 x 18 Acrylic on Canvas.
This piece I just completed today. Its another work slated for a group show on October 18th at The Art Sales and Rental Gallery in Halifax. I wanted to repaint the thunder clouds I painted before in a smaller scale but emphasise more on the clouds than the land. I titled this work "Transition" Study #1. Its 24 x 18 Acrylic on canvas.
I just completed this piece yesterday. I was captivated by the thunder clouds, which I had photographed a few months ago while travelling in the valley. I was also struggling with a title for this piece. Lately I have been titling my works with More emotion and wanting to convey that emotion to the viewer. I've title this work Reminiscence. Its 36 x 24 Acrylic on canvas. Its now at the Art Sales and Rental Gallery in Halifax.
This is another piece slated for the group show in July. I photographed the reference last summer while on a road trip to Blomidon, Nova Scotia. I was captivated by the shape of the old barn against the rolling fields. I've titled this piece Forgotten Tranquility, Study #1। Its 24 x 30 Acrylic on canvas.
This latest work I finished today. I took the reference of this scene last summer on a road trip to Blomidon, NS. I was drawn to the rows of potato plants and how they wrapped themselves over the rolling hills. I titled this piece "Potato Field-Study #1" , Its 24x18 Acrylic on canvas. The original photograph I took did not have a fence, I decided to add the fence to add more dimension to the work.
This is my latest and one of the largest paintings I've done in a while. I really enjoyed painting this one and for a change focused more detail in the field than I normally do. Once again what drew me to painting this scene was the play of light on the barn and the shadows on the potato field. I've titled the piece The old Willow Tree, Study #1, its acrylic on canvas 24x36.
I just completed this painting yesterday. It was a stretch for me painting so much water, it was a challenging piece...especially getting the reflection as believable as possible. Its 20x24 Acrylic on canvas..I've titled the piece "Calming Point" Study #1. I'm also going to be featured next week in a local magazine called the Southender. If your in the area of the southend of Halifax be sure to pick up a copy.
